Singapore is dotted with swathes of beautiful mangroves that resemble graceful, fairy-like forests. These saltwater communities are home to a wealth of marine life and important organisms that serve as a vital ecosystem for our coastline.
During a visit to a mangrove forest, early primary students will have the opportunity to explore and learn about the mangroves’ inhabitants. Observe the miraculous stance of the mudskipper; the mighty claws of ddler crabs; and a host of birds, seaweeds and other watery creatures.
In class, children will enjoy games, sharing stories and participating in drama activities that build upon their findings, enabling them to practise language learned. This fascinating programme will close with student presentations and the staging of an original drama.
